Subject: Announcing FM’s Interim Associate Vice President
Greetings Colleagues,
I am pleased to announce that after careful consideration, Kristy Long has been selected to serve as our new Interim Associate Vice President and Chief Facilities Officer. Kristy will be stepping into this role on September 30, as I transition to serve as Interim Vice President for the Division of Administration.
Kristy joined the Facilities Management team in 2019 as the Executive Director of Operations, Maintenance, and Utilities. She brings over 20 years of leadership experience in facilities management, including 12 years with the Architect of the Capitol. In her role as Deputy Superintendent for the U.S. Capitol and Capitol Visitor Center, Kristy oversaw all maintenance, operations, and facilities functions supporting Congressional activities. Her leadership was instrumental in managing large capital projects such as the Capitol dome restoration and major events like presidential inaugurations and State of the Union addresses.
Kristy’s extensive experience also includes a significant tenure at the National Institutes of Health, where she directed teams responsible for facility design and construction. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, is a registered architect, and holds credentials as a Certified Facility Manager and LEED AP.
I have full confidence that I am leaving FM in good hands under Kristy’s accomplished leadership. Her expertise, dedication, and commitment to excellence will be invaluable as she takes on this interim role.
Please join me in congratulating Kristy and supporting her as she steps into this new position.
Sincerely,
Bob
