FM provides a robust menu of services in support of the UMD campus community. Whatever your facilities-related needs may be, FM is ready to serve you.
Maintenance and Repairs
Maintenance service requests may include leaking pipes, roof or ground seepage, toilet backups, heating, and air conditioning issues, and other building or grounds issues. There is no charge to state-supported units for these services. To make a service request, complete the online form, call FM’s Customer Response Center at 301-405-2222, or email email@example.com.
FM Building Services strives to provide a clean and healthy environment across campus, utilizing quality control assurances, environmentally responsible cleaning equipment/chemicals, and techniques that meet CDC guidelines.
FM provides a variety of billable services (A KFS number must be provided at the time service is requested).
Special Event Support
Work with our Special Service Team for tables, chairs, podiums, trash, compost and recycling cans, tents, sound systems, and more. The FM Special Services team provides set up for campus events of all sizes. They also provide moving services including assistance with packing for moves.
Signs and Graphics
FM’s Signs & Graphics team can address your signage needs, large or small including (but not limited to) plaques, indoor and outdoor signs of all sizes; floor, window, and wall graphics; decals, magnetics, and vehicle graphics.
Fleet Services (Vehicle rental)
FM’s Fleet Services provides campus organizations with transportation-related services - from procuring to maintaining vehicles. In addition to rental and purchasing, Fleet Services provides administrative support, maintenance, and fueling options.
Logistical Services (Mail, shipping/storage, and surplus property management)
Logistical Services can help with all your mail/shipping and storage needs and can also assist in coordinating university-paid household and laboratory moves. Terrapin Trader is the university's ongoing surplus operation. The store is open to UMD departments, other state agencies, faculty, staff, students, and the general public.
Photo Services provides high-quality photography to the University of Maryland community, including custom printing and framing..

Capital Projects are those improvements for new facilities or major renovations that cost $5M or more and require approval beyond the UMD administration’s Facilities Council (FC); for example, the University System of Maryland Office (USMO), Board of Regents, and/or the Maryland State Legislature.
