When Disaster Strikes, IRU to the Rescue
Facilities Management’s Incident Response Unit is on call 24/7 to leap into action when an emergency affects campus. Whether natural disasters or infrastructure failures, the IRU is first on the scene, evaluating the situation and taking the first steps toward mitigating damage.

FM Housekeepers Honored at President’s Luncheon
2025 Housekeepers Award
On September 16, a group of FM housekeepers attended a special luncheon celebration at University House, the home of President Pines. The purpose of the celebration was to honor housekeeping staff nominated for their exemplary contributions in facilities.

Facilities Service Central
Facilities Service Central is a new web-based portal designed to streamline facilities service requests for the UMD community. Students, faculty, and staff can report issues, track requests, and communicate with facilities teams from any browser, phone, tablet, or computer.

Recycling & Waste Management
FM Recycling & Waste Management team provides bins, toters, and dumpsters for use by campus departments and spearheads a number of programs that keep materials out of the landfills and comply with university recycling and waste management targets.
