
Fleet Services is bringing vehicle rentals closer to campus with the soft launch of its new self-service kiosk at Regents Drive Garage, part of a broader effort to improve convenience and accessibility for university departments.
Starting this summer, rental vehicles are being relocated from the Patapsco Building to two more central locations: the Regents Garage and the Severn Motor Pool. The Regents site—now the primary location for Fleet rentals—features 24/7 self-service access via a newly installed kiosk and will include a walk-up window for in-person assistance once construction on the staff area is complete in the coming weeks.
The new on-campus locations eliminate the need for customers to travel to the Patapsco site to access a rental vehicle. Staff can now walk or take a shuttle to Regents from their normal parking area and pick up a vehicle at any time of day, with or without a reservation.
The upgrade also includes 13 Level 2 EV chargers and two LSEV chargers at Regents, all accessible through the same kiosk and reservation system. The Severn kiosk, available since 2023, remains open during standard gate hours (generally 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.).
These changes mark the final phase of the Fleet Services Modernization Program, which set out to make vehicle rentals more convenient, more sustainable, and more accessible for the university community.
