Fleet Services Launches New On-Campus Kiosk for Vehicle Rentals
Fleet Services is bringing vehicle rentals closer to campus with the soft launch of its new self-service kiosk at Regents Drive Garage, part of a broader effort to improve convenience and accessibility for university departments.
Staff will soon be able to walk or take a shuttle to Regents from their normal parking area and pick up a vehicle at any time of day, with or without a reservation.

Talking Trash: How Recycling Rules Are Changing
Due to a change in ownership of UMD’s recycling vendor, campus recycling policies are changing. All recyclable material must now be collected loose, without any bags or liners. Facilities Management is already piloting a new approach by de-bagging materials from the standard blue front-end cans used in most campus buildings.
Facilities Service Central
Facilities Service Central is a new web-based portal designed to streamline facilities service requests for the UMD community. Students, faculty, and staff can report issues, track requests, and communicate with facilities teams from any browser, phone, tablet, or computer.
Housekeeping
FM’s housekeeping team works to provide a clean and healthy environment across campus, utilizing quality control assurances, environmentally responsible cleaning equipment/chemicals, and techniques that meet CDC guidelines. As students return to campus, their role becomes even more critical.
