Looking Ahead to Summer

Greetings FM team,

As we head into the summer season and prepare to close out another fiscal year, I want to take a moment to sincerely thank each of you for all of your hard work and dedication throughout the year. Special thanks to everyone who helped support the university’s many end-of-year events and activities, including Maryland Day and Commencement.

Summer is always one of FM’s busiest times, and I know many of you are already hard at work supporting summer projects and preparing campus for the fall semester, while continuing the day-to-day maintenance and customer response work that keeps the university running smoothly. Thank you for that.

I also want to highlight a few upcoming summer activities and events:

• The Division of Administration Staff Appreciation Event will take place on June 11 at the Armory. I hope you will have the opportunity to attend and enjoy time with colleagues from across the division.
• Our next FM All-Hands Meeting has been moved from June to Tuesday, July 14. Shifting the meeting slightly later into the summer will allow us to provide more comprehensive division updates and information as we begin the new fiscal year. Additional details and registration information will be shared soon.
• We also look forward to continuing our FM summer traditions, including the annual FM Ice Cream Social on July 29. Even during challenging times, opportunities to connect, recognize one another, and celebrate Team FM remain important.

With warmer temperatures arriving, please continue to prioritize safety and take precautions when working in the heat. Please look out for yourselves and one another throughout the summer months.

Thank you again for your many contributions to FM and the university community. However you spend your summer, I hope you are able to find time to relax, recharge, and enjoy the season. Your work makes an important difference every day, and it is sincerely appreciated.
