Subject: Two New Assistant Director Appointments
Greetings FM Team,
I am happy to share that FM has recently appointed two outstanding individuals from within our existing staff to the position of Assistant Director. These individuals have consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, commitment, and leadership in their previous roles, making them ideal choices for these important positions.
In the Department of Planning & Construction, Matt Lansberry has been appointed Assistant Director of Project Management. Matt has been with the university for 11 years, and through an approved career progression program, he has advanced through various roles with increasing levels of responsibility. His academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Temple University and a Master of Engineering in Project Management from the University of Maryland.
As Assistant Director, Matt will be responsible for ensuring the success of FM’s project management function, providing leadership and guidance to the project management team, and ensuring the accuracy and completeness of all projects. His extensive experience and dedication to excellence will be invaluable in driving forward our goals and initiatives and achieving project success. This appointment is effective August 11.
Additionally, after a competitive search, Damesa Bennett has been appointed as the Assistant Director of Strategic Initiatives, effective July 1. Damesa joined FM in 2021 and has made significant contributions to the Strategic Initiatives & Communications Team, particularly on high-profile projects and initiatives. He holds a Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences in Leadership & Communication from the University of Pennsylvania and an Executive Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland.
In his new role, Damesa will plan and execute a variety of FM special events, oversee strategic initiatives, and spearhead high-level, cross-functional projects that deliver significant and lasting impact for FM. His strategic vision and commitment to innovation will help us advance our strategic plan and achieve our long-term goals.
