Winter weather emergency, January 24, 2026 - January 30, 2026, UPDATE on 1/29/26 at 3pm
FM team and colleagues,
A snow emergency event continues on Thursday, January 29, 2026 and may be in effect for several days. FM staff designated as essential for weather/other are to report as follows:
Landscape Services Night Shift: No night shift on Thursday but plan to return to regular shift and report at 6am on Friday, January 30, 2026 for an expected 8 hour shift.
Landscape Services Day Shift: Report for duty at 6:00am on Friday, January 30, 2026 and enter Snow Command operations in Strike Team organization for an expected 8 hour shift ending at 2:30pm.
ICA essential staff: Report as scheduled per your supervisor's direction.
Building Services Supervisors: No reporting needs for snow on January 30.
OM&U and B&LM Shop weather-essential personnel: report for snow zone assignments at 7:00am on Friday, January 30. Check with Snow Command when your areas are completed.
FM Essential-Catastrophic Shop personnel: As always, check with appropriate supervisors for assignment.
Based on the current forecast, no additional accumulation is expected but temperatures are very cold. Please follow guidance sent separately on cold weather safety.
There will be updates as details change. Please check for updates with emails such as this and the weather essential staff information line (301)-405-1999 for any changes in reporting needs.
