Winter weather emergency, January 24, 2026 - February 4, 2026, UPDATE on 2/2/26 at 2pm
FM team and colleagues,
A snow emergency event continues on Monday, February 2, 2026 and will be in effect until Wednesday, February 4. The University is fully open. FM staff designated as essential for weather/other are to report as follows:
Landscape Services Night Shift: report for 6am-10:30am, go off shift at 10:30am to return at 6pm on Tuesday, February 3 for a shift to end on Wednesday, February 4 at 6am.
Landscape Services Day Shift: report at 6am on Tuesday, February 3 and enter the Strike Team organization for ice and snow management duties with the same expected on Wednesday.
ICA essential staff: Report as scheduled per your supervisor's direction.
Building Services Supervisors: Report at normal shift time on Tuesday, February 3 and check assigned areas for remaining snow and ice, reporting any issues to snow command.
OM&U and B&LM Shop weather-essential personnel: Normal shift time on Tuesday, February 3 with no snow duties. Continue to report any issues encountered to snow command.
FM Essential-Catastrophic Shop personnel: As always, check with appropriate supervisors for assignment.
Based on the current forecast, an additional coating to 1 inch of snow is forecast between 9pm Tuesday and 3am on Wednesday and temperatures remain cold. Please follow guidance sent separately on cold weather safety.
