FM Staff Relations

FMHR Staff Relations provides advice, guidance, and assistance to both supervisors and staff on various employee relations/labor relations issues. Primary areas of service include: 

  • General HR questions and resource information
  • Conflict resolution (team, coworker, supervisor/report conflicts)
  • Medical leave approval, workplace injuries, and sick leave process 
  • Workplace medical or religious accommodation
  • Military, jury duty, domestic violence, and other leave approval.
  • Employee appreciation events and support
  • Performance management and review
  • Administration and interpretation of University Policy, FM practice or rule, and discipline consultation
  • Fair treatment, workplace concerns, informal resolution
  • Administration and interpretation of collective bargaining provisions under the Memoranda of Understanding (MOU), as they relate to Facilities Management operations
  • Formal grievance process Information and facilitation
  • Staff onboarding and offboarding
  • Unemployment, workers' compensation, and other agency response and representation

Representatives in FM-HR/Staff Relations work closely with other departments on campus such as University Human Resources/Staff Relations, FSAP representatives, Campus Ombudsperson, Legal Services, and other appropriate representatives.
