Rooted in Growth: UMD’s Summer Arboretum Internships
Eight summer interns will have the opportunity to connect and learn from Arboretum professionals, and turn that experience into something they can use to build their resumes and support their education.
The group includes students majoring in environmental science, landscape architecture, plant sciences, and related fields, each bringing their own interests and goals to the program.

What’s the Buzz? FM Relocates Honeybee Colony from Reckord Armory
A honeybee swarm that settled on an outdoor column of Reckord Armory was successfully relocated to UMD’s Beltsville Apiary in a joint effort by FM Pest Control unit and UMD’s Entomology Department.

Sustainability
From rain gardens and green roofs to recycling and composting efforts, green cleaning products and water-saving plumbing fixtures to energy efficiency and stormwater management, sustainability is integrated into every department of Facilities Management.

FM’s Special Services team provides everything needed for UMD's many special events -- tents, tables, chairs, sound systems, and more. They also provide the expert assistance, equipment, and labor you need when your office or laboratory changes location.
